"In The Rose Garden" – Acrylic Abstract Painting
 
In The Rose Garden is an abstract piece I (Jade) created as part of my Rose Garden series. Unlike the lighter, more whimsical pieces in that series (you can view them here), this one is darker, moodier, and filled with a sense of mystery. It’s as if you’re peering into a secret garden full of lush, forest-y greens and bursts of vibrant blooms, hidden away from the world.
 
While painting this, I kept thinking of the quote "Hope is a mighty seed that dreams in the dark" by Angie Weiland-Crosby. It perfectly captures the essence of what this piece represents—growth, hope, and strength, even in the most shadowed moments. To me, this painting is about those quiet forces within us that help us push through challenges. It’s about the idea that no matter how dark it gets, something beautiful is always growing and waiting to emerge.
 
The colours in this piece are deep and rich, it has a subtle texture across the whole canvas that makes you want to reach out and touch it, and includes flashes of rich but brighter hues peeking through the dark, creating a sense of abundance and resilience.
 
I’ve used a gloss finish on the 30x40cm canvas to make the colors pop and give it a luxurious feel. It’s ready to hang and would bring a touch of mystery and hope to any space.
