What is Ogham?
Ogham is an ancient British/ Irish alphabet, that takes its name from Ogma (the Celtic God of Eloquence & Literature) formed by Parallel strokes that intersect a continuous line.
Traditionally, Ogham has been found carved into stonework and trees/wood before it progressed later onto manuscripts.

How do you read Ogham?
To read Ogham you start at the bottom of a vertical line and read upwards, as you would climb a tree from its base to its top. As Ogham was modernised, some scripts were written across a horizontal line, in which case you would expect to find a small arrow to denote the direction in which to read. Typically however, on a horizontal line, you would read from left to right.
