That’s exactly what I wanted to capture in "A Midnight Shoreline", a set of two abstract acrylic paintings that transport you to the calming embrace of a late-night coastal scene.
The Inspiration Behind the Artwork
The ocean is always such a popular draw — the way it can effortlessly shift energy, always alive but often peaceful. With A Midnight Shoreline, I wanted to paint that feeling of being out on the water, looking back toward the shore, watching the distant glow of lights from seaside restaurants and bars. It’s that moment when time slows, and all you hear is the gentle lapping of waves.
Using broad brushstrokes and rich blue tones, I built up layers of depth and movement, while touches of warm orange bring the piece to life, hinting at the hidden energy and warmth that can exist, even in the stillness of night.
